95 (H) x 100 (W) cm2 Basing on the beliefs of the ancient Greeks: The painting depicts a stone grotto with massive pillars and a vaulted ceiling that form a narrow, dark entrance in the center. It's exceptionally quiet moment (?) at the Gate to Hades. Charon is waiting in his boat with an oar in his hand. Cerberus wandered off somewhere ...and is not seen.
