My paintings often revolve around themes of intimacy and distance—moments where connection is felt, withheld, or questioned. Through restrained colour palettes and an emphasis on atmosphere, I aim to create works that invite contemplation rather than provide answers. What interests me most is not only what is seen, but what is felt in the space in between—between two breaths.
Statement
My work is rooted in a lifelong engagement with painting as a means of exploring human presence, emotion, and silence. I am particularly drawn to the figurative tradition, where the human body becomes both subject and language—capable of expressing vulnerability, strength, and the subtle tensions that exist between individuals. A recurring idea in my practice is what I think of as “between two breaths”—a suspended moment where time slows down and something unspoken emerges. It is within this quiet interval that I search for meaning: in the space between figures, between movement and stillness, between what is revealed and what remains hidden. In recent years, my work has deepened through intensive study of the human form, including painting from live models. This process has strengthened my sensitivity to gesture, light, and the quiet psychological narratives that unfold within a composition.
