I am a contemporary artist ; born in New Zealand I studied Fine Arts with a heavy focus on conceptual contemporary art ; later a Teaching degree with Art as a specialism . I moved to the Uk to Teach art rather than practice ; as I found it difficult to find my narrative and pathway with my practice . I taught neurodiverse learners for a number of years developing a new appreciation for the creative process and the importance of self expression through Artistic practice. I came to discover my own expression again in recent years , producing work that explores themes of identity and the emotional landscape of human experience. I like to use abstraction and fragmentation of the form , capturing vulnerability and strength . The interplay between dark and light areas evoking tension between internal and external worlds. Translating the transformative experiences into tangible snap shots of human experience.e
