I am a visual artist from Amsterdam. I completed my 5 year study at the famous art academy, the 'Gerrit Rietveld Academie'. In my artwork I combine geometrical shapes and clear straight lines with soft flowing shapes in an abstract composition. The ‘Universe’ is a central theme for me. The technique I am using is oil or acrylic paint on a linen canvas. Please let me invite you to go into space with me and experience the broader perspective. All is relative in the cosmos and although we have some knowledge about the universe, there are still many mysteries. We as humans are insignificant in space and time. Knowing this, we should be more humble and grateful. My mission is to share this insight, together with the purity, the harmony and unmeasurable divinity of nature. All is connected, I cherish and protect everything that lives: plants, animals, humans, galaxies. And each individually exceeds energy that I capture and carry out in my artwork. I am thankful that the earth and cosmos are an infinite source of inspiration to me. In my free work or as a commission, I also like to paint landscapes, nature theme, flowers, portraits etc. The technique I am using can be oil, acrylic, watercolor paint or pastel crayon. www.johannahoogenraad.com www.johannahoogenraad.nl
