My practice draws from the sweeping vistas and intimate, overlooked details of Cumbria and the Lake District. I observe the land through a surreal filter, exploring nature’s interplay with human traces and capturing cycles of growth, decay and seasonal change across oil paintings, linocuts and three-dimensional constructions. I studied painting with the Open College of the Arts, and have over 20 years’ experience delivering arts and health projects across North Yorkshire and Cumbria. In 2012 I founded the arts charity Space2Create to support vulnerable adults through creativity. For the past five years I have focused primarily on my own practice, while still running two weekly workshops. I work from my studio at Market Place Studios, Kendal.
