Ochre glows across the upper field, meeting a smoky passage of brown and black before opening into pink and lavender below. The darker center interrupts the gradient and gives the small painting a sense of compression. Color seems to pass through shadow rather than simply fading from one hue to another. Built through dense, impasto, my paintings transform repeated marks into fields of shifting color and light. Individual strokes remain visible within each gradual transition. The resulting surface feels atmospheric from a distance and rich up close.
