Brown and dark green gather above a wide field of yellow and ochre. The warmer lower half appears to emit light, while flecks of red and blue hold the two zones together. The painting suggests illumination rising through a dense canopy or surface. Built through dense, impasto, my paintings transform repeated marks into fields of shifting color and light. Individual strokes remain visible within each gradual transition. The resulting surface feels atmospheric from a distance and rich up close.
